Taitn is the #92 overall prospect in the upcoming MLB Draft and Prep Baseball ranks him as the #1 high school prospect in Iowa in his class.
Dallas Center-Grimes Senior Taitn Gray has been named the 2024-25 Gatorade Iowa Baseball Player of the Year. This award is the top honor in high school sports, celebrating success on the field, in the classroom, and in the community.
Gray is a senior at DCG High School and graduated with a weighted 4.13 GPA in the classroom. He led the Mustangs to the Class 4A State Tournament in 2024, hitting .538 with 14 home runs, 39 RBI and 37 runs scored.
While at DCG High School, Gray was active in the National Honor Society and Key Club.
The Gatorade Player of the Year program annually recognizes one winner in the District of Columbia and each of the 50 states across 12 different high school sports – football, girls volleyball, boys and girls cross country, boys and girls basketball, boys and girls soccer, baseball, softball, and boys and girls track & field – and awards one National Player of the Year in each sport. The selection process is administered by the Gatorade Player of the Year Selection Committee, which leverages experts including coaches, scouts, media and others as sources to help evaluate and determine the state winners in each sport.
