The DCG Boys Cross Country team celebrated their season at a banquet on November 12. The Mustangs finished second in the
Little Hawkeye Conference, with four all-conference members, second at the district meet with four all-district members, and finished fourth at the Iowa High School State Meet with a 2nd Team All-State runner.
Since 2014, the Mustangs have never finished lower than seventh at state, and have placed fourth or higher seven times. The JV team won the Little Hawkeye Conference title for the ninth time in 11 years, with seven in the top 15 at that race. JV maintains an impressive 89% winning percentage over 11 years, and varsity has an 86% winning percentage over the same period. Additionally, there were 34 additions to the record board. On top of that, they enjoyed year 11 of the Honk/Joy Project and made blessing bags for those in need. The team knows the most important thing they do is treat each other with kindness and respect.
